Thailand’s nation-wide curfew that was first imposed on 22nd May has been lifted in key tourist areas such as Phuket, Pattaya and, of course, Koh Samui. So travellers to Koh Samui can rest assure that despite the political situation and the military coup, things are continuing as normal here on the island. Not that business operators here were closing their restaurants, bars and clubs early when the curfew was still in place anyway. So in practical terms, nothing has changed, really.
But at least you should be able to feel a little safer about not violating the curfew? That’s if you cared about it in the first place. Ah, we are island people here you know. Let the people in Bangkok deal with politics. We’ll just eat, drink, sunbathe as we do.
