Italian visitors rejoice! Time to take comfort in the fact that the Consulate of Italy has opened an office on our little island of Koh Samui. Of course, to say congratulations and commemorate, The Sarann was there to join the auspicious event which was attended by H.E. Francesco Saverio Nisio, Ambassador of Italy, chairman of the event, Dr. Francesco Pensato, Honorary Consul for the southern region of Thailand, and also Pol.Jaj.Gen Chalit Thinthanee, representative of the government, and Khun Seni Puwaseththawon, President of Tourism Association of Koh Samui.
The number of Italian visitors to Koh Samui is expected to grow 5-6 per cent year on year and the said visitors are becoming more and more independent travellers instead of tour groups, which is why having a consulate on the island would be of much use.
The office of the Consulate of Italy In Koh Samui is now operating at Samaya Hotel on Lamai beach, should you need their assistance.
